- ANNOUNCEMENT to ALL MEMBERS: Friday, May 7, 2010
- In an effort to reduce costs - which is a reflection of our player base shifts in recent weeks, we are making changes to both the infrastructure AND software of our website.
- Changes include switching our forums to a free-cost model, downgrading our hosting server.
- The first series of changes, to our forums, will begin shortly. With these changes, the website's forums will be down for a few days as developers, then general managers, work to rebuild our content, group structures, user permissions, etc.. These changes could last more than a few days; so I ask everyone for their patience as we go through the process of change. When finished, we may lose some initial functionality that we have enjoyed with VBulletins, but over time we will work to replace that functionality and slowly add components back into the forums which extend their capabilities with ehanced features.
- Later this month we will be switching our server; downgrading to a smaller box. We will post more information when that time approaches.
- Please bare with us as we go through the conversion process. Special thanks to everyone involved in helping make this happen; most notably David (our web coder) who is doing the majority of the work (at no charge ...).
